ORP, Conductivity and pH Digital Analysis Transmitters

STANDARD FEATURES

APPLICATIONS

Design
The universal compact analysis transmitter can be used in solid-free liquids by simply using various types of electrodes. The transmitter produces a 4-20mA standard signal proportional to the measuring parameter and provides a freely adjustable alarm output with two relays as an option. Both signals can easily be transmitted and processed. The multi-language display and operating elements allow customized adjustment of all measuring parameters. A specially designed fitting system ensures simple and fast installation of the device into pipelines.

Design / Principle of Operation
The analysis transmitters are equipped with two independent components, a sensor part and a transmitter part. The pH and ORP transmitters provide a replaceable combination electrode, screwed into the sensor housing with screw-in thread PG 13.5. The measured signal is conveyed to the transducer via a coax plug.

The conductivity transmitter uses sensors with different cell constants. 0.01 and 0.1 are fitted with stainless steel electrodes and those with cell constants 1.0 and 10 are fitted with graphite electrodes. The Pt1000 for automatic temperature compensation is a standard feature in the pH and conductivity sensor housings.

The microprocessor controlled electronics package provides standard current and optional relay outputs. The transmitter offers an adjustable 10-level filter function to dampen display or power fluctuations and short-term exceeded limit values. The menu-guided, multi-language parameter definition allows you to carry out system-specific on-site adjustments and process optimization.

All the fluid-contacting parts of these universal transmitters are of PVDF or electrode material, which makes them suitable for use in aggressive fluids.

The analysis transmitters require an external power of 12-30 VDC and provide a 4-20mA output signal. Two relay outputs are available for alarm functions as an option

Operation / Commissioning
Customized adjustments, such as measuring ranges, engineering units and alarm setpoints can be carried out menu-supported on site via a multi-lingual display.

Installation
The analysis transmitters can be easily installed in pipes using our specially designed fitting system. The minimal size for the pH and ORP transmitter is 3┌4". For the conductivity transmitter, it is 1". When selecting the appropriate fitting, please consider the adjacent pressure-temperature diagram, referring to the application ranges of the fitting materials. See also the temperature and pressure limit for analysis transmitters and electrodes; the operating pressure and temperature will be limited by either the installation fitting or the sensor.

Measuring Ranges, Probe Selection
PHTX820 Series

The pH transmitter is available with three different types of standard electrodes. The chart below indicates the appropriate electrode for the respective application. The lifetime of the pH electrode depends on the application. Electrodes in the PHTX820 can easily be replaced.

ORTX820 Series
The redox potential transmitter is equipped with a platinum electrode as measuring electrode. The lifetime of the electrodes strongly depends on the application.

CDTX 820 Series
The conductivity transmitter can be equipped with four different cell constants (0.01; 0.1; 1.0; 10). The cell constant is selected according to the measuring range and using the chart below. Different electrode designs are required based on the selected cell constant.
